Where to Leave Luggage in Busan

Diagram: Chart of the luggage storage options listed in Busan with prices, hours and contact details

If you arrive in Busan before your hotel check-in, or leave after checkout, you may want somewhere safe to leave your bags. This guide covers the options we found on official pages: Busan Metro lockers, a tourist information centre and storage businesses listed on Visit Busan.

Official information turned out to be thinner than you might hope. We give sizes, prices and hours only where a page states them, and we list the gaps at the end.

Busan Metro Station Lockers

Busan Transportation Corporation, which runs the Busan Metro, has an English locker page. Each line’s lockers are run by a different company with its own call centre, and prices vary by line. The page also says an additional fee is charged from midnight (24:00) on the very day of use. It did not give opening hours, maximum storage time, payment methods or prohibited items in the text we read.

Prices and sizes listed

Line 1 (call centre 051-441-2100)

  • Small (42 x 30 x 60 cm): 2,000 won
  • Medium (43 x 45 x 60 cm): 3,000 won
  • Large (43 x 60 x 60 cm): 4,000 won
  • Extra large (43 x 90 x 60 cm): 6,000 won

Line 2 (call centre 02-2282-1443)

  • Small (42 x 30 x 55 cm): 2,500 won on weekdays, 2,750 won at weekends
  • Large (42 x 60 x 55 cm): 4,500 won on weekdays, 4,950 won at weekends
  • Extra large (42 x 90 x 55 cm): 6,000 won on weekdays, 6,600 won at weekends

Lines 3 and 4 (call centre 070-8770-4282)

  • Small (42 x 36 x 60 cm): 2,000 won
  • Large (42 x 60 x 60 cm): 3,000 won
  • Extra large (42 x 90 x 60 cm): 5,000 won

The page lists prices per size, but the text we read does not spell out how long one payment covers. Check the notice on the locker or call the number for your line.

Locker counts at stations visitors are likely to use

The page lists how many lockers each station has. Counts are lockers in total, not a guarantee that one is free.

  • Busan Station (Line 1): 10 small, 40 medium, 7 large, 78 extra large.
  • Seomyeon (Line 1): 22 small, 48 medium, 13 large, 62 extra large. Seomyeon (Line 2): 58 small, 22 large, 30 extra large.
  • Nampo (Line 1): 11 small, 32 medium, 56 large.
  • Jagalchi (Line 1): 11 small, 28 medium, 2 large, 45 extra large.
  • Haeundae (Line 2): 85 small, 40 large, 29 extra large.
  • Centum City (Line 2): 70 small, 28 large, 14 extra large.
  • Gwangan (Line 2): 50 small, 20 large, 10 extra large.

The page lists no lockers at a station called Airport. Near Gimhae International Airport, it lists Line 3 lockers at Gangseo-gu Office (10 small, 3 large, 4 extra large) and Daejeo (5 small, 3 large). We did not check how far those stations are from the terminals, so plan the journey with a map before relying on them.

Busan Travel Lounge

Visit Busan’s tourist information centre page lists the Busan Travel Lounge at 38, Daeyeong-ro 243beon-gil, Dong-gu, Busan, in Busan Chinatown Street. Its listed phone is 051-441-3121. Opening hours are given as 09:00 to 18:00, with a break 12:00 to 13:00, and it is closed on Lunar New Year’s Day and Chuseok Day. Services include free Wi-Fi, smart device charging, internet search and luggage storage, with the luggage storage hours listed as 10:00 to 17:00.

The page does not say what luggage storage costs, how large a bag it accepts or whether there is a limit on items. Since the storage window is shorter than the centre’s opening hours, confirm it by phone before you rely on it for a late departure.

Storage Businesses Listed on Visit Busan

Visit Busan’s “Busan Travel Products” section lists private storage services. We report what each listing says. Visit Busan hosting a listing is not our guarantee of the service, so read the listing yourself.

First-time visitor tips

  • Pick the storage near where you will be, not near where you land. Our suggestion: choose the closest listed option to your next stop, since the page lists lockers at Busan Station, Seomyeon, Nampo, Jagalchi, Haeundae, Centum City and Gwangan.
  • Check the price of the line you are using. Line 1, Line 2 and Lines 3 and 4 list different prices, and Line 2 charges more at weekends.
  • Watch the midnight rule. The page says an additional fee is charged from 24:00 on the very day of use.
  • Phone before relying on the Travel Lounge. Its luggage storage window of 10:00 to 17:00 is shorter than its opening hours, and the page gives no price.
  • Keep valuables with you. Passports, medicines and other valuables should not go into a locker.
